Dog Show in Ljubljana

My sister Ana and I visited a dog show in Ljubljana. We were really excited because we have never been to a dog show before. Ana wanted to see her dream dogs – Chihuahua,

but I went there especially to see, what I think is the most beautiful breed of them all – A Rough Collie. And I wasn’t disappointed; there were some really beautiful collies.

My favourite one was the star of the show, Miss Hitparade, who was also a BOB and BOG2 winner.

But mainly I went there to see the first performance of Neda’s youngest collie, a sable collie called Dolly. Dolly is adorable, she is so sweet and she looks like a little lion with her thick fur. She impressed the judge on Sunday’s show and got great assessment and she even got junior BOB and BOB2!:)

Polona joined me in the afternoon because she wanted to see her future dog to be – a very rare breed – Appenzeller. There were just 4 dogs in this category but after seeing them she was even surer she wants exactly that dog.

Black Appenzeller Dina and brown Appenzeller Hanibal

Other dogs that impressed me were my second favourites Siberian Husky and Alaskan Malamute,

blue merle Australian Shepherds,

blue merle Border Collies

big and elegant Great Danes

and a dog I saw for the first time but really charmed me – the American Akita.

If I could, I would have all that breeds at home but for now my little Sky is more that enough – she has enough energy for 10 dogs:)

Zorro and Gloria

A great news - both All and Gloria found a new home!

All, now Zorro, went to the family with children who adore him, he lives with them in Preddvor. They are charmed by his bravery and beautiful looks.

Gloria went to Novo Mesto, to a family with two children as well. Neda said it was a love at first side for Gloria as well as for the family. You can see they are having a great time together:)

Aisha and Frosty's babies

Aisha, Neda’s second female dog, was expecting puppies. Her due date was the 10th of January. I was really looking forward to seeing them because both, the mother Aisha and the father Frosty are such beautiful dogs.

We were already selecting names…but then a terrible thing happened. Aisha’s contractions were not strong enough so 2 beautiful tricolour puppies were born dead. One blue merle puppy was born alive and they saved another blue merle girl when they opened her up. There were 4 other dead puppies inside. We were really hoping the two puppies would be ok…they were both extremely beautiful, just like their dad. Neda named them Born to live and Braveheart.

But they both left this earth that night. What a tragedy:( I was really sad and I can’t imagine how sad it must have been for Neda! Fortunately, the mother is healthy and let’s hope Neda would have more luck with babies next time.

Sky at home with me

I myself finally picked up my Sky on January the 2nd. I would have liked to take her sooner, but I had already booked a New Years trip to Prague months ago. Prague was great but all I could think about was Sky and when I would finally be able to come and take her homeJ. So on the second day of the New Year, it was Friday, I got there with my boyfriend Riccardo, my sister Ana and her boyfriend Aleš. Ana and I were crazy about the collies while the boys were more impressed by Neda’s other incredible dog – a German Shepherd Pax. We played for a while with them all and then the big moment came. I took Sky in my arms and we left…she was a little bit scared and she vomited right after the first corner, but after a while she had calmed down and fell asleep in my arms.

When we came home, Sky was great. She was not afraid of the strong wind outside or of all the strange things and furniture inside. We gave her a big bone and she gnawed it with pleasure.

She really charmed my parents and my grandma. First they all said: ‘No dog in the house’. Then: ‘Ok, but only in your room’. But when they saw her, they forgot about all that and she is now allowed to go everywhere she wants – even to the kitchen:)

The first night I put her in a box in my room but she was crying and I had to take her outside to pee 3 times. At the end I put her on my bed, between Riccardo and me, and she was happy. She slept like an angel.

We really enjoyed the first week together. My sisters were home and my boyfriend stayed here as well.

She enjoyed discovering our garden and the nature around us.

She really likes running, playing and learning new tricks.
She learned to ‘sit’, ‘lay down’, ‘give me a paw’, ‘jump’ and ‘bark’ in just 5 days:).

When everybody left – my sisters went to Ljubljana and Maribor and Riccardo back to Rome – we were left by ourselves. But we are having a great time together. We sleep together, eat at the same time, go for long walks and play all the time. She brought so much happiness to my life:).

Sometimes ‘aunt’ Polona visits us and Sky loves her. Every time she sees her, she greets her with a ‘puddle’ of excitement ;)

Neda, thank you so much for giving me my little angel!
